FAQs

Hopefully this will help with any initial queries, but please feel free to drop me a message with any other questions you have!

How long does a ceremony usually last for?

Your ceremony is specific to you, so the timing can vary. But on average it is usually between 25-40 mins long.

Can we have readings and music?

Yes absolutely! I think music can play a huge part in your wedding. And readings are a great way to have some really meaningful elements in your day (and to include some of your nearest and dearest!) - I can give you recommendations and suggestions on both of these elements.

What's the difference between a humanist ceremony and a registrar ceremony?

Whilst both options are legally binding, a humanist ceremony gives you the flexibility to be completely unique - not only in your choice of where you want to get married, but also in what is included. Often registrars are restricted on timings, but a humanist ceremony allows you total control on when you would like your day to begin and to insert some of your personalities into proceedings!

What costs are involved?

Budgeting correctly is one of the most important parts of wedding planning, so I want to make sure you have all the information up front. Before any costs come into the equation we have an initial meeting, at no cost, to discuss your options. The costs you will incur for the ceremony itself will be as follows:

- Celebrant fee

which includes the following:

  • Your planning meeting to discuss your story and elements you would like to include

  • Writing and editing of your ceremony script

  • Sharing your script before the wedding

  • Providing options for readings, music and symbolic acts, if you would like them

  • A rehearsal at your ceremony venue

  • A contract outlining our agreement with confirmed pricing and payment dates

  • Conducting the ceremony on the day, including any symbolic acts

  • A presentation copy of your ceremony script

  • For information on my fee, just drop me a message with your wedding date/year and I will let you know!

Registration fee:

  • This is paid direct to the council area you are getting married in and is currently £52 per couple

- Humanists UK Processing Fee:

  • £40 per couple - paid via a link online
